About

Award-winning chef Tanaz Godiwalla, better known as the ‘Queen of Parsi Cooking’, is the most celebrated Parsi culinary entrepreneur in India. Owner of Tanaz Godiwalla Caterers and the face behind every Parsi lagan (wedding) or navjote (initiation ceremony), and hundreds of events in Mumbai every year, her sumptuously elaborate yet traditional feasts are packed with flavours, quality and freshness that are representative of the elegance and uniqueness of Parsi culture. Godiwalla Caterers was started in 1969 by Tanaz’s parents Freny and Rohinton Godiwalla. However, owing to the untimely demise of her father, she took over at the young age of 20. Over the last three decades, she carved a name for herself as the leading caterer of Parsi cuisine and is today amongst the most well-recognized Parsi faces. She has been hailed as a celebrity chef in her own right across coveted global publications such as Conde Nast Traveler, The New York Times and Upper Crust India, to name a few. Has won numerous awards over the years, including the Times Good Food Award.

After 32 successful years in the food business, Tanaz has branched out into other entrepreneurial activities. Her most recent venture is the launch of ‘A Parsi Affair’, which is her own line of condiments that are unique to Parsi food and bring the taste of the cuisine into kitchens and communities across the world. These are available all over India. In the summer of 2021, she launched her catering services in the UK. In 2022, she launched her condiments line in USA and Canada. She is also the proud owner of her very own vineyard in Nashik, India, that exports high-quality grapes. At the same location, she has built a luxury boutique resort with well-appointed rooms, situated amidst the lush rolling hills of Nashik, India and overlooking acres of table grape vineyards. In her free time, Tanaz enjoys listening to music and dreaming up her next big idea.
