Shireen Adenwalla is a  Physics professor at the University of Nebraska -Lincoln.  She grew up in India and left for graduate school at Northwestern University, (Ph.D. Physics, 1989).  Here interests span superfluidity and superconductivity, thin film magnetism and ferroelectricity.  Her current interests include the effects of high frequency sound waves on magnetism, the interactions between ferroelectrics and ferromagnets  and a newly burgeoning interest in the physical properties of biological molecules.   In addition, she is passionately invested in bringing the beauty and excitement of physics to the public, curating a website (Funsize) that encourages scientists to describe their groundbreaking research in terms that everyone can understand.  

She has three (now grown) children, who kept her splendidly and happily engaged for many years.  Her other interests including reading omnivorously and  traveling with her husband as well as with friends.
