Shernaz Vakil holds a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Psychology from Bombay University and an MBA from Armstrong, Berkley, USA.  

Today as President of The Rotary Club of Bombay, she is actively involved in supporting & serving inequities in the community.

Over the past 2 years RCB has worked on Integrated Rural Development in 20 villages & hamlets impacting the lives of over 6500 people. Dark villages are brightly lit, barren farmlands are rich with cultivation as solar powered lift irrigation brings perennial water access.

Whilst working with the Tribal Vaidu community, she has helped address issues on nutrition of the girl child & literacy amongst adult women. 

 Shernaz continues as the Chairperson & Managing Director of Dai-ichi Karkaria Ltd. A specialty chemicals company. Where she has been working for over 35 years.

She is a whole time Director with Indian Oxides & Chemicals Private Limited. The Company services customers worldwide with specialty materials in Flame Retardant applications. 

As Director with ChampionX Dai-Ichi India Private Limited, a 50-50 joint venture with ChampionX, a world-renowned oil service cooperation, she oversees the service, and supply of the Oilfield & Refinery chemicals market in India.

She was Past President of Indian Specialty Chemicals Manufacturers’ Association and The Oilfield & Refining Chemicals Manufacturers’ Association of India.

She is also a Trustee of Maneckji & Shirinbai Neterwala Foundation, a Trust started by her father that primarily supports secondary education and provides medical help to the poor.
