Rashna Imhasly-Gandhy is a pioneering Jungian analyst, transpersonal psychologist, and author whose work bridges Eastern wisdom traditions with Western depth psychology. Trained as a Jungian in Zürich, she has devoted over four decades to therapeutic practice and the development of a culturally nuanced psychological framework rooted in Indian mythology, feminine archetypes, and the path of individuation.
Her therapeutic and teaching journey spans India, Europe, and Mexico, where she has led workshops in Jungian dreamwork, family constellations, and archetypal exploration. At the heart of her work lies a deep reverence for the symbolic language of the soul—expressed through dreams, images, and synchronicities that guide us toward inner wholeness. Her unique contribution lies in her ability to weave the symbolic threads of myth, dreams, and the collective unconscious into the rich narrative tapestry of Indian spiritual heritage.
She is especially known for her work on the inner journey of the feminine, both in women and in the anima development in men. Her personal and professional life has been deeply shaped by experiences of grief, transformation, and love – themes that she explores with honesty and depth in her writing and practice. Whether through individual therapy, group work, or her books, she invites seekers to turn inward, trust the psyche’s wisdom, and embrace the mystery of becoming.
She is the author of three books, the first ‘The Psychology of Love: Wisdom of Indian Mythology’ (2002) – An exploration of love and relationship through the lens of Indian mythology, offering psychological insights drawn from both Eastern and Western traditions. Her second is ‘The Emerging Feminine – Discovering the Goddess Within’ (2014) – A powerful inquiry into the awakening of feminine consciousness, drawing on Jungian theory and goddess archetypes to help readers reconnect with their inner feminine. The third, ‘The Courage to Be You – The Process of Individuation’ is (forthcoming) the book is an invitation to awaken the authentic self, honour the shadow, and live a soul-led life.
Rashna is widely respected for her culturally rooted therapeutic approach, which blends active imagination, dream analysis, and mythic storytelling. Her work continues to shape the landscape of Jungian and transpersonal psychology, inspiring a new generation of therapists and seekers to explore the individuation process through culturally resonant symbols.
