Perin Xerxes Avari completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, with a concentration in the Spirit-Mind-Body Institute as well as Global Mental Health. While at Aga Khan Health Service, Perin designed and implemented a comprehensive mental health program tailored to the unique needs of the communities in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. At Synapse, Pakistan Neuroscience Institute, Perin’s role as Project Manager involved spearheading innovative school-based initiatives and conducting rigorous clinical research. Working with adolescents has always been a passion for Perin and in the last year she has developed a mindfulness based curriculum aimed at improving adolescent wellbeing. Her work has contributed significantly to improving mental health outcomes for diverse populations.
