About

Nazneen Thanawalla Spliedt was born and raised in Karachi and was among the first women to receive her MBA from the University of Karachi’s Institute of Business Administration.

She has been involved in Zoroastrian community causes from an early age, encouraged by her parents and extended family.

Having worked in the Hotel industry for most of her working life, she had the opportunity to live and work in many countries around the world with her husband, where she involved herself in many artistic and social causes heading various committees involved with promoting local arts students and artists.

In Hong Kong she was member and president of the Friends of the Art Museum at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and in San Francisco she has been involved for 20 years on the Board and as Chair of the Society for Asian Art, a support group of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, where she continues to serve.

She has been active as well on the Board and as Chair of the Zarathushti Anjuman of Northern California (ZANC) since 2004. She is the first and only woman, (so far) to head the Association. She serves as Trustee on the Board of ZANC at present. She was the recipient of Fezana’s ‘Jamshed Pavri Humanitarian Service Award’ in 2104

 Her interests continue to evolve and broaden her horizons, specially in the field of Asian Art and as a supporter and volunteer at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.
