Ms. Khursheed N. Khurody’s background and education spans four countries and several disciplines. Raised and educated in the U.K., and the U.S.A, Ms. Khurody completed her schooling at Stowe in England and her formal higher education at Harvard University.
While representing Harvard Alumni in India, Ms. Khurody seeded the Harvard Club of Mumbai. Together with her academic education, both in the humanities and in the sciences, she also has a strong background in the western performing arts and several prizes and awards to her credit, in western classical music. Ms. Khurody plays the piano, cello and violin at music festivals, the world over.
Her current positions include providing seminars and workshops, specifically, ‘Leadership – Lessons through Music & the Humanities’ – for senior management of corporations. She has worked with institutions such as Larsen and Toubro. She says, “The parallels between music and management are astounding.”
Ms. Khurody, has also recently restored a derelict, 160 year old heritage property and launched a luxury startup in hospitality, creating a vintage brand experience.
In addition, she works as a strategic advisor & consultant to non-profits, shaping organisational design, architecture, strategy, partnerships, culture, & governance.
Projects include wildlife conservation, sustainability, solar power, girls’ education, skill development, livelihoods and poverty alleviation
Ms. Khurody is presently country Chair of the Shivia Livelihoods Foundation – an international non-profit organisation, head-quartered in London – working for the poorest of the poor in India, through its livelihood development programmes.
She is also on the strategy Board of the SockStar Project and is an advisor and consultant to RangerLab, again head-quartered in the UK, empowering wildlife rangers, globally.
In India, she sits on several other social purpose and non-profit advisory Boards, including, serving The Foundation for Peace and Compassionate Leadership, in conjunction with several former Tata Group officers, helping to develop holistic leaders, through a series of avant-garde programmes.
With increasing relevance, Ms. Khurody believes, that the humanities & liberal arts fashion leaders who are organic, passionate and vitally relevant.
In her spare time, she enjoys, trekking through mountains and jungles. She loves the outdoors and enjoys swimming and riding. She also has a deep love of reading, writing, history, poetry and philosophy.
