Dr Mina Izadiar was born on October 29, 1949 in Kerman. Her parents were Dariush Izadiar and Pouran Tigrani. 

She studied in Shahriari girls’ primary school in Kerman, and continued her education in Giv primary school and Anoushirvan Dadgar high school in Tehran.

 In 1967, she was accepted across the country with the rank of 13 in the medical school of the University of Tehran and also with the rank of 80 in the medical school of Shiraz University. She selected the University of Tehran to continue her education.

She married Parviz Malekpour in 1973 and had three children named Shirin, Shirzad and Sheida.

Dr Izadiar, Chairman of the founding group of the Thalassemia Association of Iran and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Thalassemia Association of Iran, played a very important role in setting up this institution. With six years of hard work finally she could establish and register this institution and now after 32 years since establishment, Iran is the first developing country in which all patients with thalassemia can be identified and covered by the Thalassemia Association. For many years, she studied and treated patients in Iranian health centers such as Mofid Hospital and Children’s Medical Center in Dr Ahri’s Hospital.

Dr Mina Izadiar passed away on June 21, 2013 due to cancer in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

زنده یاد دکترمینا ایزدیار در تاریخ نهم مهر ماه ۱۳۲۸ برابر اول اکتبر 1949 میلادی در شهر کرمان زاده

شد. پدرش داریوش ایزدیار و مادرش پوران تیگرانی بود.

وی در دبستان دخترانه شهریاری شهر کرمان، دبستان گیو و دبیرستان انوشیروان دادگر تهران ادامه تحصیل داد. در سال ۱۳۴۶ با رتبه ۱۳ کشوری در دانشکده پزشکی دانشگاه تهران و همچنین با رتبه ۸۰ کشوری در دانشکده پزشکی دانشگاه شیراز قبول شد و دانشگاه تهران رابرای ادامه راه برگزید.

وی در سال ۱۳۵۲ با پرویز ملک پور ازدواج کرد که ثمره این ازدواج سه فرزند به اسامی شیرین، شیرزاد و شیدا است. روانشاد دکتر ایزدیار، رییس گروه موسسان انجمن تالاسمی ایران و ریاست هیات مدیره انجمن تالاسمی ایران، نقش بسیار مهمی در راه‌اندازی این نهاد حمایتی داشت و پس از 6 سال تلاش، در سال ۱۳۶۸ این انجمن را بنیان گذاشت و بطور رسمی به ثبت رساند و امروز پس از 32 سال از تاسیس این نهاد به همت دکتر ایزدیار، ایران نخستین کشور در حال توسعه است که تمام بیماران مبتلا به تالاسمی در ان شناسایی و تحت پوشش انجمن تالاسمی قرار گرفتهاند. وی سالها در مراکز بهداشتی- درمانی ایران مانند بیمارستان مفید و مرکز طبی کودکان(بیمارستان دکتر اهری) مشغول به تحصیل و درمان بیماران بود.زنده یاد مینا ایزدیار در تاریخ 31 خرداد 1392بر اثر بیماری سرطان در شهر مدیسون ایالت ویسکانسین امریکا درگذشت.
